Growing Seeds Learning Center is a recipient of the Early Childhood Education Grant.  This grant provides high-quality preschool services to eligible children in order to prepare children for success in kindergarten.

The state-funded grants are awarded to preschool programs who are required to provide comprehensive services that support a child’s growth and learning using developmentally appropriate practices.

Procare is a top rated childcare management software.  It is a tool that allows us to communicate more effectively with families and manage each student.  In addition, it provides in depth reports to help us manage our daily operations.

For nearly 40 years, Teaching Strategies has believed that the best and most powerful way to improve child outcomes is through effective teaching.

And that’s why they've created forward-thinking, comprehensive, research-based and research-proven curriculum resources. These help teachers and caregivers to be their most effective, while still honoring their creativity and respecting their critical role in making learning exciting and relevant for every child.

Their supportive curriculum solutions are used by early childhood educators across the country, helping them provide children with developmentally appropriate programs that support active learning and promote progress in all developmental areas.

Their Approach

The Creative Curriculum® is research-based and supports the development of the whole child. High-quality, comprehensive resources empower educators to intentionally teach and care for our youngest learners during the most critical and formative years of development.

The Creative Curriculum® is…

Innovative: delivering cutting-edge resources that are unique, effective, and based on the latest research.

Responsive: including solutions that address educators’ challenges and help create a responsive learning environment.

Supportive: providing robust guidance to support each educator’s professional journey.

Comprehensive: aligning to all state early learning guidelines and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework

Developmentally Appropriate: promoting learning experiences designed for each age-group and flexibly tailored to each child’s needs with high-quality, research-based resources.

PreschoolPromise Header logo.jpg

Preschool Promise is a program committed to fostering equity, recognizing that far too many African-American and Appalachian young children do not share the same advantages and privileges of many of their middle-class peers.

In addition to promoting best practices for all young learners, Preschool Promise promotes targeting the Dayton community's resources to the highest-need young children.

Today, the Preschool Promise is committed to 3 priorities that were recommended by a community task force:

  • Educate the community about the power of Preschool

  • Expand the availability of high quality Preschools

  • Assist families in finding and paying for Preschool

At Growing Seeds, we ensure that each family has an opportunity to benefit within this program.  Upon enrollment into The Preschool Program you will complete an application to determine your eligibility.

USDA Nutrition.PNG

WIC was established as a permanent program in 1974 to safeguard the health of low-income women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. This mission is carried out by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, nutrition education (including breastfeeding promotion and support), and referrals to health and other social services. Read this for more information. To apply, please click on their logo and refer to their website or the GSLC Parent Handbook.
